The 1 Ducat is a gold coin of the Austrian Empire, struck between 1872 and 1915.
The obverse shows the portrait of Franz Joseph I, emperor of Austria and Hungary from 1848 to 1916; the reverse shows the double-headed imperial eagle of the Habsburgs. It weighs 3.49 grams, for a diameter of 20 mm.
The 1 Ducat is struck at 986 thousandths: it is therefore almost pure gold, whereas at that time most coins were struck at 900 or 916.7 thousandths.
Please note: if you would like this coin in a particular version (year, effigy, detail and so on), please contact us before ordering so that we can tell you whether we hold it in stock. The price may then be revised according to the coin’s rarity and condition. The photograph is not contractual.
