Maple Leaf 1 oz | Gold

The Maple Leaf is a gold coin issued by the Royal Canadian Mint since 1979. The reverse shows a maple leaf, designed by Walter Ott; the obverse carries the effigy of the British sovereign.

It contains one troy ounce of gold at 999.9 thousandths, that is 31.1 grams, for a diameter of 30 mm. It carries two security features: since 2013 a laser micro-engraving, a maple leaf holding the last two digits of the year, visible under a loupe, and since 2015 precision radial lines. Its face value is 50 Canadian dollars.
