The 20 Francs Coq Marianne gold coin is the best known coin in France. It is 900 thousandths fine, with a gross weight of 6.45 grams and a diameter of 21 mm. It was struck between 1898 and 1914.

The obverse shows Marianne, the allegory of the Republic; the reverse shows the Gallic rooster with the motto « Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité » and the face value « 20 francs ».
