40 Francs Charles X | Gold

The 40 Francs Charles X was struck between 1824 and 1830.

The obverse shows the portrait of Charles X and the reverse the face value « 40 francs » on either side of a shield of France, together with the year and the mint mark. It is 900 thousandths fine, weighs 12.90 grams, with a diameter of 26 mm.

Charles X succeeded his two brothers Louis XVI and Louis XVIII; he reigned over France from 1824 to 1830.
