The 50 Francs Hercule, known as the « Dupré », takes its name from its engraver Augustin Dupré. It was struck from 1974 to 1980. It is 900 thousandths fine, weighs 30 grams and measures 41 mm across.
The obverse shows the Hercules group, Hercules flanked by Liberty and Equality, with the legend « république française ».
The reverse carries the face value « 50 francs » and the year within a wreath, with the motto « liberté, égalité, fraternité ».
