10 Francs Hercule | Silver

The 10 Francs Hercule, known as the « Dupré », takes its name from its engraver Augustin Dupré, as does the 50 Francs Hercule. It was struck from 1964 to 1973. It is 900 thousandths fine, weighs 25 grams and measures 37 mm across.

The obverse shows the Hercules group, Hercules wearing the skin of the Nemean lion and joining Liberty and Equality, an olive branch and the motto « liberté, égalité, fraternité ».

The reverse carries the legend « république française » and the value « 10 francs » within a wreath of laurel and oak tied with a ribbon, together with the year.
