The 40 Francs Napoléon Emperor An 13 was struck in 1804.
The obverse shows the portrait of Napoléon I, who had become emperor after two years as First Consul; the reverse carries the face value « 40 francs » and the year within a wreath. It is 900 thousandths fine, weighs 12.90 grams, with a diameter of 26 mm.
