The George V Sovereign is a British gold coin struck between 1911 and 1932. It is 916.7 thousandths fine, with a gross weight of 7.99 grams for a diameter of 22 mm.
The obverse shows the profile of King George V surrounded by the inscription « georgivs v dei gra: britt: omn: rex fid: def: ind: imp: », engraved by Edgar Bertram MacKennal.
The reverse shows Saint George slaying the dragon, with the year and the initials « b.p. » of Benedetto Pistrucci. The edge is reeded.
