Half Sovereign Victoria jubilee | Gold

The Half Sovereign Victoria was struck between 1838 and 1901. It exists with three effigies: young Victoria, jubilee Victoria and widowed Victoria. Offered here is the jubilee Victoria version, marking fifty years of reign.

The obverse shows the crowned bust of Queen Victoria, the jubilee effigy, and the reverse the crowned shield with the arms of the United Kingdom. It is 916.7 thousandths fine, weighs 3.99 grams, with a diameter of 19.3 mm.

Queen Victoria reigned over the United Kingdom from 1837 until her death in 1901. Her son Edward VII succeeded her.
